(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with gun related crimes after shooting at several intruders who were burglarizing his home, according to police reports in Utah.
The Utah man was arrested after he allegedly fired two shots with a pistol after robbery suspects ran away from his home.
The local television news station reported that Clare Niederhauser, of Layton, was driving home last week, when he saw a car in his driveway and a man standing near the door holding a crowbar.
Niederhauser is accused of firing a shot into the getaway car and another shot after the third suspect fled on foot.
Police said that the use of deadly force is permitted when there is a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury and Niederhauser was not directly threatened by the suspects.
Niederhauser was booked into the Davis County Jail on two counts of misdemeanor reckless conduct.
Robert Cruz was arrested and charged with robbery after a foot chase.
