(Scroll down for video) A woman was arrested, charged and convicted after drowning her sick son in the bathtub, according to court proceedings in California.

Now, the San Diego mother has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for drowning her 4-year-old autistic son in the bathtub.
The local newspaper reported that 37-year-old Patricia Corby, received the sentence Monday, about a month after giving a tearful guilty plea to murder.

Several anxious relatives of Corby spoke before sentencing, including the boy’s father Duane Corby who called the woman “a disgusting person.” After several of these types of comments from family members continued she groaned angrily “enough, enough”.

On March 31, Corby came to a police station and told authorities that she had killed her son, Daniel, by filling a bathtub and holding the child under water until he died. His body was still wrapped in a wet blanket on the back seat of her vehicle.
She also claimed to have tried to drown herself, but failed.
