(Scroll down for video) A thief was caught on video stealing lottery tickets and synthetic marijuana while his female accomplice was seen cashing the lottery tickets later, according to video uploaded to the internet.
Video surveillance at the Dunedin convenience store captured what appears to be the same man stealing from the store on three separate occasions.
“He was coming and going,” said Simon Makdissi, the owner of the food store, Munchee’s, near the intersection of Bayshore and Dunedin Palm Boulevards.
One day, surveillance video captured the suspect, a man, who holds up an employee at gunpoint. The masked suspect was wearing a gray jacket and ordered the clerk to open the register and hand him money. He then demanded scratch off lottery tickets and Spice, which is a synthetic marijuana. The employee complied with the demands and the suspect then fled.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white man about 6 feet tall, weighing 165 pounds with a medium built. In the video he is seen with a gray hooded jacket. The jacket has a red backing along the neck. He also seems to be wearing a baseball cap under the hood.
A week later, an unidentified woman cashed in the stolen lottery tickets at a Citgo gas station at 1301 Missouri Avenue in Clearwater. A surveillance video captured the woman.
A few days later, the robbery suspect, who was wearing the same gray jacket and a mask, broke the front window of Munchee’s.
Surveillance video showed the suspect grabbing hundreds of scratch off lottery tickets and then put them in a garbage bag.
During the time that the suspect was stealing from Munchee’s, the store alarm went off. The suspect however didn’t care and he took a pack of cigarettes before running off into the night.
A few hours later, a man who is believed to be the unidentified suspect and a woman are seen cashing stolen lottery tickets at the 7-Eleven at 100 Alt 19 in Palm Harbor. A surveillance video captured the man and the woman. The woman in this surveillance video looks like the woman caught cashing the tickets stolen the week before.
A few days later, the suspect struck again. Using the same jacket, the suspect ordered the employee to open the cash register and the safe. The clerk on duty was the same worker who was robbed before.
When his wife learned that was held up for the second time she suffered a stroke.
The worker decided to stay beside his wife, while she was recovering in the hospital. Police are asking the public for help in identifying the man and the woman.
