Armed men rape 6 tourists in Mexican resort of Acapulco

(Scroll down for video) Several tourist thought they were going to have a great vacation in the Mexican resort city of Acapulco, but they were all raped at gunpoint, according to a statement by the Mexican federal police.

The group of masked gunmen are wanted by Mexican police after they raided a rented house in the Mexican resort of Acapulco and raped six tourists.

Acapulco Mayor Luis Walton said that the men held a group of 12 tourists at gunpoint, tied up the men with telephone wires and swimsuit straps and then raped the women.

Walton said the attack took place on the outskirts of Acapulco on Monday.
Walton said police are looking for the attackers, but did not elaborate on their identities.

He acknowledged that the attack could affect the image of the resort city. Acapulco has been battered by years of drug gang violence. Tourism to many Mexican hotspots plummeted in recent years since the beginning of the government led war on drugs.
