(Scroll down for video) A high ranking police officer was punished after she sent sex videos of herself to another police officer, according to a statement made by the Tucson, Arizona, police department.
The police lieutenant who sent porn videos and pictures of herself in uniform to her lower ranking police officer lover has been demoted.
Diana Lopez, who was in a relationship with the man at the time, used her personal cell phone to send sexually explicit content.
The public information officer for the Tucson Police Department was demoted from lieutenant to sergeant after an investigation.
The probe was triggered initially by anonymous letters sent to her department in August 2012.
Police said her actions had violated several department regulations, code of ethics and professional standards.
Deputy Chief Kathleen Robinson wrote: “Lopez used extremely poor judgment in sending these images which undermined her credibility as lieutenant.
“Her actions have adversely affected not only her reputation, but the reputation and mission of the Tucson Police Department,” she added.
Police said that Lopez’s boyfriend, who was not identified, showed the content to other police officers, between May and August 2011.
The investigation revealed that 13 people saw the pictures, but the racy clips were never discovered. Lopez also admitted to kissing a person in uniform.
Lopez, who now works in the operations division, is believed to be considering a civil suit against the city.
Her attorney, Michael Piccarreta, said the case presented is a violation of privacy.
