(Scroll down for video) A teen girl became $200 richer after she agreed to quit facebook, according to press reports in the United States.

More and more people are taking a break from facebook, but not many are getting $200 for the effort.

Count Rachel Baier in that exclusive group. The 14-year-old made ​​a deal with her father, Paul. If Rachel stayed logged off from facebook for five months, she will get $200.

To make sure everything was going according to plan, a contract was signed by both parties. Rachel will receive $50 if she resists facebook until April 15. She will get another $150 if she stays off facebook until June 26. She gave her father the password of the account in order to change the password and prevent access to her account.

According to the contract, Rachel intends to use the proceeds for stuff.
Paul Baier said that Rachel came up with the plan. “Almost always she wanted and needed money because she was not finding babysitting jobs. She is an honor student, but she said that facebook can be a distraction,” Paul said.

Rachel originally asked for $70, but then, as a skilled negotiator, she returned and asked for $200. “When she realized that it would be for five months, she wanted an amount that really excites her,” Paul said.

Paul hopes that this might start a trend. “I’ve noticed that she is part of a generation of children growing up in facebook. She has been in it for two years, full time. However, she plans to continue using facebook after the contract ends.”
The contract expires on the last day of school. So far, she has no regrets.
