Neighbor Yolanda Washington said: “I heard three shots and then it stopped. I was about to get up from the floor and I heard five more shots and got back on the floor.”
Dallas police said the suspect shot and killed two residents.
Neighbors said the two bodies were laying dead outside.
Although police have not identified the victims, neighbors said that they are a Dallas man and his girlfriend who is the mother of five children ranging from 10-years-old, to a baby who was born just several months ago.
Police believe the shooting was the result of a dispute between the couple and the accused shooter, an older man who lived below them.
Neighbors said that the fight had lasted for almost a year, focusing on a Pit Bull who lived in the unit of the couple. Issa said: “From what I’m hearing now, they have had many discussions about the dog, urinating on the balcony. But as far as I know personally, I have never heard them arguing or fighting.”
A police affidavit identified the suspect as 75-year-old Chung Kim. He is being charged with capital murder. A statement released by police, said that Kim is hospitalized for treatment of a medical condition.
