A man swallowed a piece of his cousin’s ear during a fight, police in Connecticut said in a statement.
Stamford, Connecticut, police said that a man bit the earlobe of his cousin and swallowed it during a fight over loud music.
Officers charged 27-year-old Emilio Mendoza with first-degree assault and other offenses early Monday in connection with the attack on his cousin, 29-year-old Ruiz Clemente-Perez.
Clemente-Perez told police that he asked Mendoza to lower the loud music because he had to work in the morning, but Mendoza began hitting him in the head instead. During the fight, Mendoza allegedly bit part of his left ear and swallowed it, Clemente-Perez said.
Officials said that Perez-Clemente was bleeding and that part of his ear was missing when they arrived. He also suffered a broken nose and fractured eye sockets.
Mendoza is being held on $100,000 bail.
