(Scroll down for video) A boy, who was expecting to see his lunch made a horrific find inside his backpack, according to police reports in Pennsylvania.
The child, who was identified by police as a seven-year-old boy, alerted his teacher last week, after finding a loaded gun in his backpack in an elementary school in Philadelphia, police said.
Officials at Universal Samuel Daroff Charter School told police that the boy was putting a folder inside his bag during an after school program and saw the gun. The principal said that the teacher immediately took the backpack and called police.
Lieutenant John Walker said that police are conducting interviews with family members and reviewing surveillance video to find out how he got the gun inside the bag.
Walker said that the weapon was a .38 caliber pistol loaded with five rounds of ammunition. The boy said he had his backpack with him in the classroom all day.
