(Scroll down for video) A little girl was suspended from school after her hair appeared to be blue, according to press reports in Indiana.

The 10-year-old girl was suspended from school for breaking the rules of the school because her hair was blue.
Fifth grader Rachel Neely, from Bright, Indiana, put blue streaks in her hair with Kool Aid during a friends sleepover weekend.

According to the Sunman-Dearborn Intermediate School student handbook, unnatural hair color is in breach of school rules, but despite the best efforts of her father she was not able to get the dye out from her hair.

Single father Charles Neely said that he got the shock of his life when Rachel came home from school with a note confirming that she had been suspended.

It added that she would not be allowed to return to class until the last bit of color had been removed from her hair.
“When she got home from school today the first thing she said was: ‘Dad, I’ve been suspended for my hair.’ I was horrified,” he told a local television news station, adding that while he accepted the dress code he thought that the punishment was a little extreme.
