A police commissioner in the United Kingdom came under fire after becoming involved in a Adolf Hitler tweet on a social media website, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The deputy commissioner of police and crime in Hertfordshire, England, resigned last week after retweeting a quote from Adolf Hitler.

In a message sent earlier this month, Rachel Frosh, appeared to be comparing her political opponents to Nazis, and tweeted: “Dear socialists, embrace your inner Nazism.” She also linked to a picture of Adolf Hitler, according to press reports.

The deputy police commissioner resigned Wednesday despite denying that she sent the message.
Frosh said that she resigned to allow the police commissioner, David Lloyd, to maintain a constructive working relationship with local politicians of all parties.
