(Scroll down for video) A former Miss Washington Beauty Queen was arrested, charged and convicted of killing the husband of her colleague, according to court proceedings in Washington.

Peggy Sue Thomas, the former wife of a millionaire, was sentenced to four years in prison for her role in the murder of the husband of a former colleague.

The former beauty queen accepted a plea agreement last month, a week before she was due to stand trial on a charge of first-degree murder. Thomas pleaded guilty to criminal assistance in the first degree and in exchange for a guilty plea, prosecutors recommended a sentence of four years in jail.

The punishment left the family of Russel Douglas, who was found shot dead in his car, disappointed.
“It seems a mockery of the basic sense of justice that she would be sentenced to four years in prison for the cold and premeditated act which would not have been possible without her participation,” the victim’s father, Jim Douglas, said in court last week.

Prosecutors said that Thomas and her then boyfriend, James Huden, attracted Douglas to a remote area, so he could shoot Huden.
Douglas was found dead in a car in Freeland, Whidbey Island.

Prosecutors said it could have been a revenge killing, after Huden and Thomas suspected that Douglas was abusing his wife and children.

Last year, Huden was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentenced to 80 years in prison.
The former beauty queen was given an opportunity by the judge on Friday to tell the truth about the murder, but she refused.
