More than a half a million Israeli email accounts were compromised by hackers, according to press reports in Australia.
Hackers associated with the group Anonymous, claimed last week to have compromised 600,000 email accounts from the Israeli Walla! company, stealing data and information from users.
A report published in an Australian newspaper said that hackers published email addresses and passwords on 93 different forums, on a website used by hackers to communicate.
Walla! confirmed that the list was posted online, but played down the incident. “The published information is useless, because the passwords that were allegedly exposed are encrypted and therefore cannot be used. Nevertheless, we are working on securing customer accounts, Walla!, said.
