CBS News anchor arrested after choking his news anchor wife

(Scroll down for video) A popular television news anchor was arrested and charged after he choked his news anchor wife, according to a statement by the New York Police Department.

CBS 2 News anchor, Rob Morrison, is accused of viciously choking his wife during a fight inside their suburban Connecticut home early Sunday, then continued to threaten her after being arrested, police said Monday.

Darien police said they responded to the Morrison House, located on Hollow Tree Ridge Road, around 1:30 am Sunday after receiving a call from the mother of his wife to report a domestic violence incident.

“Upon arrival, it was found that Morrison had been becoming increasingly belligerent towards his wife during the course of the night, ending with choking his wife with both hands,” a news release from the police, said.

“The officers did see red marks on her neck consistent with this complaint by the victim,” the statement added.
Morrison, 44, a handsome former Marine, anchors at CBS 2 News “This Morning” and “News at Noon”. Previously, he worked 10 years at NBC 4. His gorgeous blonde wife, Ashley Morrison, is an anchor at CBS MoneyWatch.

“The accused wife-choker, made ​​verbal threats to harm his wife even more while being processed, which were heard by arresting officers,” police said. Ashley Morrison did not request medical attention, police said.

The Massachusetts native was charged with felony second-degree strangulation, misdemeanor second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, police said Monday.
