A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of falsely accusing a man of rape for the 11th time, according to court proceedings in Southampton, United Kingdom.
the compulsive liar filed 11 false claims that she was raped in the past 10 years after making his first complaint at the age of 13, a court has heard.
Elizabeth Jones, 22, admitted that she lied about the latest violation allegation because she did not like the man she accused of rape, the Southampton Crown Court was told.
Her latest victim, was arrested and questioned for nine hours before being released without charge.
The judge sentenced her to 16 months in prison. It was also revealed today that she made her first complaint in 2004 when she was only 13-years-old and made up another 10 rape allegations over the next 9 years.
In 2009 she was sentenced to 10 months in jail for a similar offense.
Between 2005 and 2007 there had been eight other rape allegations that the police investigated, but never charged anyone.
In the latest incident, Hampshire Police launched an investigation after Jones, of Southampton, urged an unidentified friend to report that she had been raped.
Later she went to the police station for a medical examination and repeated the false accusation.
A prosecutor told the court that a man was arrested, but denied the rape charge.
Detectives later saw CCTV recordings that covered part of the house where she was allegedly attacked which did not support her story.
“The police had to take her complaint seriously and conducted a proper investigation. She was arrested and later admitted that she had lied about being raped. She said she did it because she did not like him,” the court heard.
