(Scroll down for video) A boy called police to report his mother after she told him to go to bed but he refused to go to sleep.

The 10-year-old boy from Massachusetts, threatened his mother that he will call the police on her if she made him go to bed.

True to his word, the boy placed a call to the police, but after he dialed 911, the boy had a change of heart and he hung up the phone.

But police policy requires the operator to call back the person who hung up the phone. When the operator called the home the boy’s mother picked up the phone and she explained the situation.

In the video below you can hear the operator speaking with the mother, who explained that her son threatened her that he will call the police if she sent him to bed, to which the mother responded “Go ahead. Call the police,” which he did.

The mother is heard asking her son if he wanted to talk to the police and complain about his bedtime, but the boy didn’t want to come to the phone.
The operator told the woman that she has to send an officer over to evaluate the situation.

The officer who responded to the call, spoke with the boy and explained to him how the system works and when it was appropriate to call 911, according to the report.
No charges were issued.
