(Scroll down for video) A little boy was left heartbroken after school officials took away his cupcakes that were decorated with U.S. soldiers, according to press reports in Michigan.
In the most recent incident of anti-gun hysteria to erupt in the school environment, officials of a primary school in the small town of Michigan, confiscated 30 homemade birthday cupcakes of a third grader, because they were adorned with green plastic figures representing World War Two U.S. soldiers.
The school principal called the military-themed cupcakes insensitive in light of the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.
“I was upset,” Casey Fountain, the child’s father, told a television news station. “It’s horrible to compare true U.S. heroes with psychopathic murderers,” he added.
Fountain explained that his wife had made the cupcakes. His son, Hunter, helped decorate them. The next morning, Fountain’s wife brought the treats to the school’s main office, where the secretary made positive comments about their appearance.
“About 15 minutes after that the school called my wife and told her that they could not serve the cakes, because the soldiers had guns,” Fountain told the television news station. “My wife told them to remove the soldiers and serve the cupcakes anyway,” he added.
“We are taking political correctness too far,” the angry father, said.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
