A Texas mother is furious after middle school bullies gave her son a mock invitation to a KKK themed birthday party that promised to feature lots of fun and games.
Tahiyyah Howard said that this was not the first time her son Justin, who is in seventh grade has been racially harassed. She told a television news station that several white classmates in Tomball, Texas, have repeatedly harassed her son because he is the only black student in class.
“I’m just really, you know, sick of all of this,” Howard told the television news station.
In another incident, a classmate wrote the words “Black Justin” on the blackboard.
“My son was very upset,” Howard said.
Officials at Tomball Junior High School confirmed that the note was written, but said that a teacher took it before Justin could see it. Administrators contacted Howard and disciplined the two students that were responsible.
“The behavior of the two students who wrote the note is not acceptable,” a spokesperson for the school district said in a statement.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
