(Scroll down for video) A highly loved Jewish Olympic gold medalist will be on the next lineup on the popular U.S. TV show “Dancing With The Stars”, according to press reports in the United States.
Aly Raisman, the young U.S. gymnast who won three medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, will join the new cast of celebrity dancing on the ABC hit reality show “Dancing with the Stars.” The new season of “Dancing With The Stars” begins next week. The new cast of the 16th season was announced on “Good Morning America” late last month. Raisman will dance with professional dancer Mark Ballas.
The Jewish gymnast won a gold medal at the last Olympic Games for a floor routine performed to the classic Jewish song “Hava Nagila”. As controversy erupted over whether to hold an official moment of silence for the 11 Israeli Olympic athletes murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games in London, the 40th anniversary of that attack, Raisman strongly supported the move.
When the Raisman family learned of the athlete’s participation in the show, before it was publicly announced, they were very excited, according to sources.
Raisman, 18, is already rehearsing for the show. “Everyone thinks that because I’m a gymnast dancing will be easy, but it’s actually the opposite,” she said.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
