Just a few days before President Barack Obama’s arrival to the State of Israel, a Gallup poll showed that U.S. citizens are overwhelming in support of Israel.
According to the survey, which interviewed 1,000 people, 64 percent of U.S. residents currently stand with Israel. Such a high rate of support has not been recorded since the first Gulf War, in 1991, or 22 years ago.
In contrast, the survey showed that only about 12 percent support a Palestinian state. As usual, support for Israel among Republicans were much higher than support of Israel among the Democrats.
Among Republicans, support for Israel was at 78 percent, while Democratic support for Israel was at 55 percent. Among those who are categorized as independents, 63 percent support Israel.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
