(Scroll down for video) In a bizarre incident, a dead body along with explosives were found inside a Florida university dorm room, according to police reports in Florida.
Hundreds of students were evacuated from a dormitory at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, after explosive devices were found while authorities were investigating the death.
UCF spokesperson, Grant Heston, said that a body was found in a student residence room. While police were investigating, they also found an assault weapon and improvised explosive devices in the room, Heston said.
Police found a man dead in what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. It was not immediately clear if the man is a student.
The residence, called Tower 1, is a home for about 500 students. Students have been evacuated.
“I think there is no an imminent threat to the school,” Heston said.
The explosive devices were found inside a bag in the bedroom, Heston said. The Orange County bomb squad, police and the FBI were working to remove the device safely from the building.
The UCF’s main campus is closed.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
