The U.S. public voted and Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 13-year-old, is one of the finalist in The X Factor USA.
The young star, who was mentored by X Factor judge Britney Spears, received a standing ovation from all four judges when she sang “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone in her first audition.
Entertainment mogul Simon Cowell said: “a star has just hit the stage.”
Carly Rose also has an impressive portfolio of acting. Her first job was with American Jewish Theater of New York, which led her to a role on Broadway in Les Miserables and a musical tour of Little House on the Prairie.
Pop-sensation Britney Spears, who mentored the young contestant on the show said: “I thought there was a resemblance between me and Carly Rose.
She reminds me of me, when I was younger.
Carly Rose is a bit shy and then gets on stage and sings with an awesome voice.
Like Simon Cowell said about her the other night, she really gets it. She understands the business and that is what is also needed in addition to being talented. I think that’s the best quality.”
Carly Rose was the last entrant in the teen category, and competed against Tate Stevens, Harmony Fifth, and Emblem 3. She went on finishing in second place. Now, Carly Rose Sonenclar announced that her recording option has been picked up by Syco Music, which is Simon Cowell’s joint entertainment venture with Sony Music.Mobile video not loading?
