(Scroll down for video) A family is trying to force a neighboring sex offender to purchase their home, according to a new lawsuit filed in a Pennsylvania court.
The Pennsylvania family has sued the registered sex offender in an attempt to force him to buy the family home, where the family said it is stuck after the neighbor was convicted of sexually assaulting their daughter.
The lawsuit was filed in Lehigh County by the child’s parents.
Oliver Larry Beck, 65, pleaded guilty in 2011 to indecent assault of a child under age 13, and was sentenced to three to 23 months in prison. After his release, he was required to register as a sex offender.
The family claims that the proximity of their home to a registered sex offender caused their home to be unsellable. The parents also said they feel trapped by living next to the man who raped their daughter.
