(Scroll down for video) President Obama is getting a taste of what it is like for Israelis to live under constant rocket attacks as several Gaza rockets slammed into Israel as Obama was set to meet Palestinian president Abbas, according to Israeli police officials.
Israeli police said that no injuries have been reported after two rockets slammed into a city on the border between Israel and Gaza during President Obama’s first visit to that country as president.
A police spokesperson told the press that one of the Qassam rockets fell in a yard of a house in the city of Sderot in southern Israel, and the authorities are looking for another suspected rocket that probably landed in an open field.
Meanwhile, Obama was miles away in Jerusalem at the time, where he visited the Israel Museum, to inspect the Dead Sea Scrolls, which highlight the ancient Jewish people’s connection to the land that is now Israel. Obama arrived in the West Bank city of Ramallah to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, at around 11:00 am local time.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
