Apparently, no one can escape being a victim of credit card fraud, even a U.S. Supreme Court Judge, according to press reports in Washington.
The U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts was forced to cancel his credit card recently, after someone obtained his card information.
A local newspaper reported that a cashier at Starbucks Coffee said that Roberts paid for his coffee in cash due to the theft. The incident was confirmed through a spokesperson for the Supreme Court, adding that this incident marked the latest offense committed against an active justice since May, when someone broke into the house of Judge Stephen Breyer, although no one was home at that time.
“Consumers should learn from this that no one is immune from falling victim to credit card fraud or other fraudulent activities. Consumers should take appropriate action to protect themselves from financial fraud,” Mark Kugerman, the head of a consumer agency told YourJewishNews.com.
