A man was arrested and charged with theft related charges after he was caught with 2,000 bottles of stolen perfume, according to police reports in New Jersey.

Juan Bernal, 52, of New Jersey, allegedly hired a 17-year-old to help him achieve the robbery scheme. The two are accused of taking thousands of bottles from the Cosmetic Essence Innovations store located in Holmdel and loading the loot into an SUV.

Police officers said that Bernal stole 1,890 4.2 ounce bottles of Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue, on Friday, valued at $109,620. He also stole 234 3.4 ounce bottles of Victoria’s Secret PINK, valued at $7,488.

The unidentified child was allegedly recruited to help load the bottles into the back of the truck. It is unclear how the two got caught, but both were arrested that night.

Bernal was arrested and detained at the Monmouth County Jail on bail of $100,000.
This is not the strangest theft reported so far this year.

A man was arrested and charged with theft related charges after stealing a truckload of cheese carrying about 42,000 pounds of the product, according to a previous press report in YourJewishNews.com.

Also, two people working as storage packers in Georgia allegedly stole $65,000 worth of chicken wings, a few days before the Super Bowl and amid chicken wing shortage nationwide, according to press reports.
