(Scroll down for video) A family was left heartbroken when their mother died after plastic surgery.

The woman died suddenly, two days after having several plastic surgeries she got herself as a birthday gift.

Adriana DeSilva, 39, of Florida worked as a home health aide for an Alzheimer’s patient while taking night classes to become a registered nurse.

DeSilva underwent a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction of her neck, “a gift she was giving herself for her birthday and Mother’s Day,” DeSilva’s 14-year-old daughter, Kerolayne Stuwer, said at a news conference in Boca Raton, Florida. DeSilva was released by Dr. Daniel Zeichner just 90 minutes after four surgical procedures, the family lawyers said.

The day after the surgery, DeSilva complained of pain, and she went to see a doctor, who saw nothing wrong with her. Two days after the surgery, she suffered a stroke, which sent her into a coma before she died. The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner office is performing the official autopsy. The family’s lawyer Daniel Harwin said he has also hired an independent forensic pathologist.

“How devastating. The woman was full of life and was looking forward to her new looks. Her poor kids will now grow up without a mother,” a shocked, Carol Jones, 35, of South Beach, Florida told after learning about DeSilva’s sudden death.

DeSilva’s two children, a girl, 14, and her younger brother are preparing to fly to Brazil, where they will be living with their maternal grandmother.

Attorney Andrew Kessler, another Florida lawyer hired by the family of DeSilva said he has “great concerns about the fact that Adriana DeSilva had so many procedures done at once, and did so in an outpatient surgery center.”
