A man was arrested and charged with murder related charges for his role in the killing of a Jewish rabbi along with his children, according to a statement released by police in France.
French police have charged the 30-year-old, after supplying the weapons used by Islamist terrorist Mohamed Merah, which killed seven people, including a rabbi and three Jewish children around the southern city of Toulouse, last year.
Toulouse resident Fetha Malki, who has a history of minor offenses, was charged Saturday with complicity in murder in relation to a terrorist enterprise, and was ordered held without bail.
He faces other charges of receiving stolen goods and illegal arms sales.
Judicial sources said the man admitted providing Merah with arms following his arrest last week, but denied any prior knowledge of his attacks.
Claiming inspiration from Al-Qaeda, Merah killed a rabbi, three Jewish children, and three French paratroopers, last year, before he was killed during a clash with police at his home.
Two others have been charged in the investigation, his brother Abdelkader faces charges of complicity in murder and a man suspected of involvement in the theft of the bike used by Merah during his attacks.
Malki is suspected of having provided at least two firearms to Merah, including an automatic weapon used during his attack on a Jewish school. He is also suspected of supplying body armor used by Merah during the police siege of his apartment.
