(Scroll down for video) Tragedy struck just after the bride and groom completed their wedding reception, according to police reports in Georgia.
A newlywed husband was killed and his wife was seriously injured in a traffic accident as the vehicle they were traveling in collided head on with another on the road. The couple was driving away from their own wedding ceremony in Grovetown, Georgia, according to police.
Brian Orzechowski, 36, was taking his new wife Crystal, 35, to Clarks Hill Lake in Georgia, at 9:30 pm, last week, when their car veered across lanes and crashed into another vehicle.
Brian, a veteran who served three shifts in Iraq and one shift in Afghanistan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crystal was taken to Georgia Regents University Medical Center, in Augusta, where she is now listed in fair condition.
The couple, who were friends for 28 years, were married in the presence of their loved ones, just hours earlier.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident, but have said that Orzechowski was not drunk.
Torvoy Curry, the 35-year-old driver of the other car, was also airlifted to a hospital. He was found not to be at fault in the accident, a police officials said.
