(Scroll down for video) Popular singing sensation Alicia Keys was warned by numerous activists not to hold a July 4th concert in Tel Aviv, Israel.
A coalition of groups have demanded that Alicia Keys cancel her July 4th concert in Tel Aviv in order to protest the mistreatment of Palestinians by Israel.
In a letter, Alicia Keys was warned to cancel her concert in Tel Aviv on a petition by Palestinian-American groups signed by over 12,000 people.
A delegation of representatives of the coalition of over 500 organizations in the United States, presented the document to the New York office of Alicia Keys to combat HIV / AIDS, Keep a Child Alive. The petition asks Keys “to be on the side of justice and cancel her concert in Tel Aviv, Israel,” and to “join us in the cultural boycott of Israel and help stop entertaining apartheid.”
The delegation met with the staff of the organization, who explained that they were aware of the ongoing efforts to promote the cancellation of Keys’ concert. Delegates sent over materials including details of the global boycott campaign from rights organizations documenting Israel’s violation of the rights of Palestinian children.
Keys recently said that she planned to go ahead with the show, despite calls from the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic Boycott of Israel.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
