A woman was arrested and charged with assault related charges after threatening her roommate with a gun because he hid her vodka, according to police reports in Florida.
The Key Largo woman was arrested Wednesday, the Monroe County sheriff said.
When sergeant Jason Madnick and Deputy Sydney Whitehouse arrived to the house located on Second Terrace at 6:15 pm, they found the victim standing outside. The suspect, 51-year-old Kari Dangler was still inside.
The victim told Sergeant Madnick that Dangler had pointed a gun at him. He said the weapon was a revolver she kept in a black steel holster.
Sergeant Madnick then told Dangler about the accusation of her roommate. She said the gun belonged to her roommate and she had only gone to get it cleaned. The weapon, a stainless Colt Python, was recovered from a bedroom.
Inside the gun was a spent bullet casing. Sergeant Madnick asked Dangler about it and she said that she fired the gun last week in the pool area because a frog was making noises. Sheriff’s Office records show that police responded to calls of a shooting in that area last week. Deputies responding to the incident could not locate the source of the gunfire at that time.
Dangler was arrested. She was charged with aggravated assault and was booked into jail.
