(Scroll down for video) Israeli fans of the “Gangnam Style” star are delighted to learn that Psy will hold live performances in Israel this summer.
South Korean pop star Psy will perform two concerts in Israel in July.
Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, became a worldwide phenomenon last year with his “Gangnam Style” music video, which has been viewed over 1.6 billion times on YouTube, a record high.
Psy will perform in Israel on July 25 in Tel Aviv and in Eilat on July 27. Tickets are expected to cost around 200 shekels or about $50.
Since his sudden rise to international fame last year, Psy has performed in numerous countries around the world. In 2013, Psy showed that “Gangnam Style” was not a one-hit wonder after his “Lord” music video received over 400 million views on YouTube.
“Gangnam Style” was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most “liked” video in YouTube history. It subsequently won Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
“Gangnam” is an area in South Korea, specifically a small area in Seoul, South Korea. In recent years Gangnam became famous for its wealthy residence. “Gangnam Style” refers to the “new money”, wealthy culture and lifestyle that has sprung up around the South Korean region.Mobile video not loading?
