(Scroll down for video) The Israeli Defense Minister received a ride in a state of the art U.S. military aircraft in the United States during his visit in the United States.
Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon flew in the V-22 Osprey on Friday, as Israel is weighing the possibility of buying U.S. military aircrafts.
Yaalon came to the Pentagon in an unusual way, flying in with the hybrid aircraft, which can hover like a helicopter, floating down for a landing outside the steps of the Department of Defense.
Washington has offered Israel the V-22 Osprey, along with other advanced missiles, sophisticated radar systems and aerial refueling tankers. If the deal goes through, Israel would be the first foreign country allowed to buy the V-22 Osprey.
Yaalon flew in the V-22 Osprey 37 miles from a Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, where pilots demonstrated the ability of the aircraft.
The Israelis were impressed by the speed of the aircraft.
The V-22 Osprey, which has two rotors that tilt for landing and takeoff were plagued with technical problems and a series of accidents during the 1990s.
The aircraft, manufactured by Boeing, has become a favorite in Afghanistan and elsewhere for the U.S. Marine Corps, which has a fleet of more than 200 V-22 Ospreys.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
