A member of the Lakewood, New Jersey “Chaverim” organization was assaulted by two drunk men late at night, according to a statement released by the organization.

The organization said that it was surprised to receive an urgent call last night from a senior member of the volunteer group seeking assistance after being attacked by two drunk men.

The incident occurred at 10:30 pm, as the volunteer drove along Route 5. A car, with two young men and a young woman, attempted to cut him off and cause a collision.

The volunteer was able to drive away, but the young drunks decided to chase after the volunteer’s car, and eventually managed to catch up with him.
The three got out, carrying beer bottles and sticks and began to hit the car and smash the car’s windows.

The volunteer called for help while trying to protect himself from the flying broken glass. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the two young men. The woman however, managed to escape from the scene, and police are looking for her.

Police have gathered video surveillance from nearby homes for evidence in the case. The volunteer suffered injuries from the broken glass.
