(Scroll down for video) A passenger had a run in with police after a flight attendant complained that he did not flush the toilet on board, according to police reports in California.
San Francisco, California police said that a passenger on a Virgin America flight was detained after a member of the cabin crew accused him of not flushing the toilet.
Now, Salvatore Bevivino, 52, is suing Virgin America for $500,000 in damages. Bevivino said the incident has left him feeling humiliated.
Bevivino said the incident, which occurred in April, started when he could not get a flight attendant to bring him a soda.
Bevivino said that the flight attendant told him he had to enter his request on his entertainment unit, and it was then that he asked why she could not bring him a drink as any other attendee at other airlines. Bevivino then said he told the attendant that his time was precious and that the attendant was there to serve him.
A crew member finally brought him a drink after having informed the staff that he would contact the airline about the policy.
When the plane landed in San Francisco, Bevivino was detained “as a person of suspicion” and he was accused of not flushing the toilet. Police, FBI and security officers escorted him off the plane.
The police incident report said that an attendant said Bevivino went to the bathroom, ordered a drink, and when he came out of the bathroom he was smiling and began to curse. The incident report also said that the attendant went to the bathroom and saw that the door was left open and the toilet was not flushed.
Bevivino denied that he was not cursing.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
