(Scroll down for video) A birthday party turned into a nightmare after a lawyer and his party guests smashed a luxury hotel room.
Robert Pearman, 45, was arrested by police in Las Vegas on charges of malicious destruction of property at the Encore hotel in Las Vegas.
Pearman is accused of going on a drunken rampage at a high roller suite at the Encore hotel, causing almost $100,000 in damages.
Pearman, and at least five other people, were staying in a $3,000 per night, two-story, 5800 square feet upscale suite. The two bedroom suite is equipped with whirlpool hot tubs facing Las Vegas Boulevard, among other luxuries.
Officers were called to a disturbance in the rooms. When they arrived, police officers found the room trashed. The criminal complaint described the room as “total disarray, with broken items, overturned furniture, and many food items splashed on the carpet, walls, floors, lamps, and curtains, and decorative vases were damaged.”
Pearman told police: “We were partying, I take full responsibility for what happened here.” However, when asked by staff of the Encore hotel numerous times to pay for the damages, or face being arrested, Pearman refused to pay and allegedly becoming belligerent stating that he is an attorney.
He was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property. Pearman is an attorney based in Los Angeles, California specializing in workers compensation.
