(Scroll down for video) Inmates wanted to accomplish something in their lives by breaking a dancing record.
Inmates from a high security prison in Peru showed their softer side when they tried to break a record for the most number of people dancing in jail.
The inmates got into brightly colored gym clothes and they put on their dancing shoes for a chance to break the world record for the largest number of people dancing in jail. An estimated 1,200 prisoners in the Lurigancho prison in Lima, Peru, showed off their best aerobics moves in order to get the title.
The Guinness World Record officials have yet to confirm if the inmates managed to break the world record. The record for the most inmates dancing simultaneously in the same place is currently held by a prison in the Philippines.
The inmates were recorded dancing to reggaeton and merengue beats in a scene that was in stark contrast to the daily reality of being in the jail.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
