Gerard P. Streator, 46, of Wisconsin has pleaded guilty to public lewdness after he was caught having sex with a couch.

Streator was sentenced to five months in prison for the offense. He was arrested last year after an off-duty police officer caught him having sex with an abandoned sofa. Streator was charged in the Waukesha County Circuit Court with one count of lewd and lascivious behavior. The off-duty police officer was jogging at about 11:00 pm when he observed an abandoned sofa shaking on the curb. When he came closer, he saw Streator by the sofa, and thrusting his hips as if he was having sex with a person.

The officer approached Streator to see what was going on, but the officer did not see anyone else on the sofa. He then realized that Streator was thrusting between the cushions for sexual gratification. The officer yelled at Streator “what are you doing?” Which caused Streator to run away.

The officer chased Streator but he ran into an apartment complex, where he went into a locked lobby and walked upstairs to an apartment. The officer who did not have access to the apartment complex called the police department about the incident and discovered Streator’s name.

The next day, police went to Streator’s apartment, but he was not home, instead, they spoke with his wife, and then the officers went to the Country Springs Hotel where Streator works. They asked him about the incident. At that time, Streator denied the incident claiming that he had been at home with his wife and had gone to bed at around 10:30 p.m.

Now, he will spend five months in prison, he was also barred from possessing pornography of any kind and he has to pay $243 in court costs.
