(Scroll down for video) The Israel Defense Forces extended holiday wishes to all Muslims around the world, according to a video message uploaded to the internet.
Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yoav Mordechai wished Muslim citizens of Israel and Muslims around the world, a blessed Ramadan. He described how the month of Ramadan represents the value of coexistence, patience, love and peace. He also expressed hope that the month will be one that will bring good news, optimism and blessings, especially for Israel Defense Forces soldiers observing the holiday.
In honor of the month of Ramadan, which starts today, Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories of the IDF, or CogAT, has lifted some restrictions at border crossings in order to benefit those who observe the holiday in the biblical Judea and Samaria or the West Bank.
Among the changes, the IDF will extend the opening hours of the border crossings during the holidays, free entry permits will be given to Palestinians over 60-years-old, and special permits will be given to West Bank families to visit Israeli family members.Mobile video not loading?
