A man was arrested and charged with filing a false police report related charges after he beat himself up and then called police to pin the attack on his neighbor, according to police reports in Alaska.

Alaska Police said that in an attempt to imprison his neighbor, a man in Fairbanks beat himself up and called authorities on Sunday night.

A call came in to the Alaska State Police at 8:00 pm on Sunday night to report an assault. The call was made by a 50-year-old man living in Fairbanks. The man was identified by police as Tony Gesin. The man reported that he had been assaulted by his neighbor.
When police officers arrived at his home, he gave the same story he told the police dispatcher.

After an extensive investigation and interviews, Gesin finally admitted that he had beaten himself in the face several times and then called the authorities in an attempt to frame his neighbor so he would be jailed for assault.
State Police then arrested Gesin for filing a false police report. No charges were filed against the neighbor, police said.
