(Scroll down for video) A group of fun-loving people created a unique swimming pool on wheels.

What apparently began as a plan to beat the summer heat caught the attention of many people, including police officers.

A group in Germany built the moving swimming pool out of a BMW convertible.

According to an incident report released by Chemnitz police officers, a cop was on patrol near Chemnitz, when he saw a convertible that looked a bit suspicious.

“I saw the strangest-looking BMW convertible. From the outside it looked like a regular convertible, but the inside was decked out with a fully functioning swimming pool,” the officer said.

The officer followed the car and observed four young men, dressed in bathing suits, and splashing inside the makeshift pool. According to the police report, “all of them appeared drunk.”

When the joyriders saw the police officer they allegedly fled the scene on foot.
After a closer inspection, the officer discovered the car had been sealed with a synthetic material and filled with approximately 500 gallons of water.

The officer turned off the vehicle by disconnecting the spark plugs and flattening the tires.
When one of the men, a 27-year-old, who police suspect was the driver, returned to the scene to pick up his wallet from the car, police obtained a blood sample for blood alcohol analysis.

Chemnitz police spokesperson Frank Fischer said that so far no charges have been filed, however, the investigation is ongoing.
Although it is unclear whether driving a car full of water is illegal in Germany, Fischer said the vehicle “probably did not have a permit to be driven on the road.”
