A woman was arrested and charged with assault related charges after biting her daughter’s breast during an argument, according to police reports in Florida.

Indian River County Sheriff’s Officer said that Joy Young, 38, of Vero Beach, Florida, and her 16-year-old daughter, Diamond LaCrystal Simmons, were talking about Simmons’ two-month-old baby girl, last month.

According to Simmons, Young was trying to collect social security for her newborn baby. It was an attempt that did not sit too well with Simmons and an argument broke out.

Young, meanwhile, said that the two argued constantly over Simmons leaving her to care for the baby while she goes out partying.
In any case, the alleged verbal argument became physical, with Young allegedly scratching Simmons several times and then biting her on her right breast in the nipple area, causing her skin to crack and bleed.

When the police responded to the altercation, it was reported that Simmons had visible scratches on the face and also had a large bloodstain on her shirt. The blood was from her breast wound.

Young was booked into jail on charges of child abuse, and she was later released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in court again later this month.
