(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after he killed his wife. The man then posted a picture of his wife’s dead body along with a confession on Facebook, according to police reports in Florida.

Miami Police said that Derek Medina came into a police station and told officers that he had killed his wife. Officers then went to 5555 SW 56th Street, where they found the body of 26-year-old Jennifer Alfonso inside the kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said that Medina, 31, said he and Alfonso were in a fight when he went up to his bedroom and got a gun. Medina said he pointed the gun at Alfonso and she left the room.

Medina said that minutes later, Alfonso returned to the room to tell him she was leaving him. Medina said that was when he followed her without the gun and she began to beat him.

According to the arrest warrant, Medina said he returned to the room to re-arm himself with the gun, and returned to the kitchen, where Alfonso was armed with a knife. He said that he was able to take the knife from her, but she began to hit him again, and that’s when he shot the victim.

Medina posted a picture of the dead body and a seeming confession to his Facebook page on Thursday at noon. Medina has named the photo as Alfonso and wrote “RIP”.

“What sick person goes and writes a status about it and says it’s something they have to do?” Daysi Fernandez, Alfonso’s best friend, said. “He killed her and then he posted it,” Fernandez said.

Facebook deleted the account about five hours after the incident and notified the police.
Medina was charged with first degree murder.
Records show that Medina and Alfonso married, divorced, and then remarried three months ago.
