(Scroll down for video) A rocket was fired towards the Israeli city of Eilat, but thankfully, the Iron Dome missile defense system successfully intercepted it, according to video uploaded to the Internet.

Two people were treated for shock as al-Qaeda members allegedly attacked Israel.
Emergency services reported that two people were being treated for anxiety attacks. There were no reports of property damage.

Eilat residents said they heard the sound of an emergency siren shortly before 1:00 am, followed immediately by two explosions. The army and police have combed the area for more landing sites.
Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis, a Sinai-based group affiliated with al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the attempted attack.

On Saturday, the group has issued a statement saying its fighters were the target of a drone strike Friday in the northern Sinai Peninsula, which Egyptian security officials said unidentified attackers killed five suspected Islamic militants and destroyed rocket launchers.

The group said that four of its members were killed while preparing to fire a rocket against Israel. The rocket squad leader has escaped, the statement said.

The Israeli army has installed an Iron Dome battery in Eilat last month. The battery has been deployed at the peak of the tourist season, for fear the city could become a target of rocket attacks.
