A man was arrested and charged with assault related charges after he assaulted several family members of his new wife, according to police reports in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Police said that a joyous wedding turned into a tragedy after the groom ended up in prison after allegedly assaulting his wife’s relatives minutes before going home.

The wedding celebration was held in a hall in Mecca in western Saudi Arabia. The fight began when the groom wanted to take a picture with his new wife.

However, the older sister of the bride opposed the presence of a man in the picture room. She called her sister to the side and told her to ask the groom to leave.

However, the groom insisted on taking pictures and an intense discussion with the bride’s sister erupted.

The situation escalated quickly and the groom assaulted the woman, which caused other female relatives to join the fight.
The bride attempted to calm the situation, but failed, and the fight escalated to include the male relatives.

After the groom fled from the scene, several women complained to the police, saying they were victims of an assault.
The groom was arrested hours later and his case was transferred to the investigation’s unit.
