An Israeli trial judge will return to the bench despite the fact that he allegedly beat his own children.
Supreme Court President Asher Grunis and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni made the decision today that the judge will return to work as trial judge early next year. However, the judge will not oversee criminal, custody and family cases.
The judge took a voluntary leave in February after Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein approved a request from the police to question the judge on charges of child abuse.
The first complaint was filed three years ago, after the judge allegedly confessed to one of the teachers of his children to beating his children. The teacher immediately notified the Department of Social Services.
