Police were called to a convenience store after a woman fell asleep while standing.
Bahmandeji Melissa, 33, of Kentucky, was arrested on Saturday after she was found sleeping inside a Circle K convenience store on Dixie Highway.
According to police, they were called to the Circle K convenience store at about 9:00 pm after a woman was sleeping inside the store while her children ran around unattended.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the mother asleep while standing in front of a vending machine. Officials woke Bahmandeji, and conducted a search. They found Suboxone inside her purse along with a spoon, which contained heroin residue.
Police believe that Bahmandeji used one or both of the drugs in the bathroom of the store while her two children were running around the store unattended. Once she was arrested and placed in a police car, Bahmandeji voluntarily gave the officer two needles, one of which contained heroin.
Bahmandeji was booked into the Jefferson County Jail and charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.
