A former beauty queen has pleaded guilty to illegal alcohol possession, according to court proceedings in Delaware.
Melissa King resigned as Miss Teen USA Delaware after an online adult video appeared in February. She has denied that she is the woman in the video.
Now, the former beauty queen was given a one year probation sentence on Monday for underage possession of alcohol.
The 19-year-old was also fined $100 after appearing in the District Court of Maryland in Worcester County. A separate theft charge was dropped due to lack of evidence.
During a stop for a broken tail light in August, police found an open bottle of Captain Morgan inside King’s vehicle.
Gregory Hannigan, King’s lawyer, said that alcohol and the vehicle belonged to his client’s father.
King ‘s boyfriend, David Stout, paid her fine of $100 and $40 in court fees.
The theft charge was initially filed after King and a friend allegedly stole money from a money box on a city bus.
“Right now, Melissa is just getting back on track while moving forward with her career and her life,” Hannigan said.
