A couple was sentenced after being found guilty of disorderly conduct amongst other charges.
A couple gave a new meaning to getting a “screw” at Home Depot.
The couple was arrested after they were caught having sex inside a shed, which was on display at Home Depot, police said.
Shaun Bowden, 31, and Emily Craig, 20, of South Carolina, were arrested after police were called about 8:40 pm to the store in North Charleston.
Police were told that a man and a woman walked into a shed that was displayed as a sample on the Home Depot property. The two closed the door behind them and they stayed inside, according to the police in North Charleston.
Officers entered the shed and found the two “partially clothed”. Bowden and Craig were both shirtless and Bowden also “had his pants down around his knees, with his privates exposed,” according to the report.
During the subsequent interrogation, “it became clear that they were engaged in sexual activity inside the shed,” police said. Bowden and Craig were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Bowden was also charged with indecent exposure. Craig faced an additional charge for providing false information to officers, as she initially gave officers a false name.
Craig and Bowden, were sentenced on Thursday. Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and to providing a false name to police. She was sentenced to time served.
Bowden, however, did not show up on his court date, but he was tried anyway. He was convicted of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure as the police officers, who responded to the initial call said they could see his genitals.
Bowden was sentenced to for 30 days in jail concurrent for each charge. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
