(Scroll down for video) A 12-year-old girl was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct related charges after bullying a teen at school, according to police reports in Connecticut.
Stamford Police said that they arrested the girl after she was relentlessly picking on a classmate at a private school.
“We were informed by the father of a 13-year-old girl that she is constantly being harassed, intimidated and bullied at school,” Lieutenant Diedrich Hohn of the Stamford Police Department said.
“She really could not learn in that kind of environment,” Hohn said.
Police said school administrators were notified, but the harassment continued.
“When it gets to the level that teachers cannot handle the situation, we had to get involved,” Hohn said.
The bullying became so intense that the 13-year-old victim told her parents she was contemplating suicide, and that was when the police intervened.
To protect the children involved, the police did not disclose the name of the school or the name of the children.
The 12-year-old suspect was released to the custody of her parents. Stamford Police say that if this happens again, there will be more arrests.
